Gloria 1 (for 2-3 people), Gloria 2 (for 8-10 people), Gloria 3 (for
4-6 people) Gloria 4 (for 2-4 people), Gloria 5 (for 2-4 people) and
Gloria 6 (for 4-6 people).
Location: 1 ½ miles from the small town of Mercatale
Val di Pesa with all kinds of shops, 4 miles from San Casciano, 12 miles
from Florence, 30 miles from Siena and approximately 60 miles from Pisa.
Description: This is a lovely medieval villa built as
a summer house by the noble Florentine family Ridolfi di Piazza. The
property is in an attractive panoramic setting amongst green hills, olive-groves
and vineyards producing the famous Chianti Classico wine. The estate
itself makes wine and there is a small on-site shop. The stone buildings
close to the villa have recently been restored preserving their original
architectural features and turned into apartments. Access to the property
is via an unpaved but well maintained road.
All the apartments have a living room with satellite television (free
channels only), kitchen with oven/hob, fridge/freezer, and some with
dishwasher, one, two, three or four bedrooms, extra sofa-bed and one,
two or three bathrooms, depending on the apartment size. Please note
there is a washing machine and ironing facilities to be shared among
the apartments.
Facilities: Garden and shared swimming pool with ladder
access, measuring 12 x 6m (open from 1st May to 30 September). Barbecue
and table-tennis also available, and mountain bikes for hire.
Extras: Maid service is on request at 11 euros
(approx £7) per hour to be paid on the spot. Baby-sitting
can also be arranged (payment locally). A cot can be hired
if required at 52 euros per week (approx £34), to be
paid locally. Special Features: Guided tours of local areas
can be organised taking in the architecture, Italy’s
excellent wines as well as local handicrafts.

Gloria 1 (sleeps 2-3): (45 m2) First floor apartment
with living-room, satellite TV and sofa-bed, kitchen with oven and
fridge, 1 twin-bedded room and 1 shower room.
Gloria 2 (sleeps 8-10): (125 m2) First floor apartment
with kitchen (oven, freezer, dishwasher), large living-room (with satellite
TV), 1 twin-bedded room and 1 shower room. Upstairs to the 2nd floor
and 1 twin-bedded room with en-suite shower room, living-room with
double sofa-bed, 1 twin-bedded room, and 1 shower room. Stairs up again
to the 3rd floor (in the ancient tower): Here there is 1 further twin-bedded
room.
Gloria 3 (sleeps 4-6): (82 m2) Ground floor apartment
with kitchen (oven and fridge), 1 double bedroom, and 1 shower room.
Stairs lead to the first floor with living-room (with satellite TV)
with double sofa-bed, 1 twin-bedded room, and 1 shower room. The ground
floor is suitable for disabled people.
Gloria 4 (sleeps 2-4): (68 m2) Ground floor apartment
with living room (with satellite TV) with kitchen corner (oven/fridge)
and fireplace. Upstairs to the first floor with 1 double bedroom, 1
shower room and a living-room with double sofa-bed.
Gloria 5 (sleeps 2-4): (66 m2) Ground floor apartment
with kitchen (oven/fridge), living-room (with satellite TV) with double
sofa-bed, 1 double bedroom, and 1 shower room.
Gloria 6 (sleeps 4-6): (79 m2) Ground floor apartment
with kitchen (oven/fridge) with dining area (with satellite TV) and
direct access to a large private furnished loggia offering beautiful
views over the surrounding landscape, 1 double bedroom with double
sofa-bed, 1 twin-bedded room, and 2 shower rooms.
