All
the above cars are insured to carry 5 people, or 7-9 people, where indicated, and are manual
transmission, unless otherwise stated. No one particular type of car
can be absolutely
guaranteed. The cars will be supplied to you AT THE AIRPORT itself , but
deliveries and collections can also be arranged at extra charge. Other cars/suppliers
may be available
on request.
All
rates are quoted on a 7 day week and are based on the rate applicable on the first rental day. For other durations, the rates
are pro-rata. The minimum
hire period is 3 days (costed at 50% of weekly
rate). Rental days are based on 24 hours, i.e. if you pick the
car up at 10.00 am, the car needs to be returned about the
same time, or else
an extra day’s rental will be charged. Bookings are subject to the
contractual terms of the local car hire company, whose name will
be on the documents, and contracts are signed locally; you will
be subject to
its terms and conditions and local law. You will be given details
of who to contact locally in the case of any queries.
Rates include: Unlimited mileage, Collision
Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection Insurance, one extra driver (if required), all airport charges and
taxes. (Out of office hours are between 21.30 hrs and 08.00
hrs so if your flight arrives after 21.30 hrs, a charge of 34 euros is payable locally).
Not
included: Petrol, Personal Accident Insurance (usually covered
by your personal
travel
insurance), tyre, windscreen or window damage, traffic
fines and any insurance excess* (this can range from approx 500 - 1750 euros
depending on the type of car). Extra insurance (green card) may
be necessary if you intend travelling into Spain.
You
will be asked for a credit card on which any deposits (for insurance
excess and petrol)
may be held; this credit card imprint will then be
returned to you on the safe return of the car with the petrol
refilled to the level previously supplied. Please note as with
all car hire companies
you may be asked about extra insurance - this is known as 'super
cdw'. This is not compulsory but it would mean you would not
pay any insurance
excess (see * above) in the event of an accident. From £8 per day,
depending on the car, you could cover yourself against
this eventuality - talk to us about this if you have any queries. If
you need to hire several booster/baby seats and/or extra drivers, it may
be
worth taking the 'all-inclusive'
rate which includes all these extras and also covers the super
cdw - excess* payable in the event of an accident. Details
of these rates on request.
Extras:
- Extra
drivers after first two: Small charge (currently 6.15 euros per week per extra driver),
payable locally.
- ALL DELIVERIES and pick up of cars within city limits and within office hours only, 10 euros per service.
- Cross border authorisation (green card) - into Spain only - 30.75 euros per rental.
- SAT NAV / GPS - 10 euros per day.
- Glass cover (ie windscreen and window damage (excludes mirrors)) - 21 euros minimum charge, and 8 days or more, 3 euros per day.
- Booster/baby seats (not available for those under 1 year) - forward facing only: Small
charge payable locally (currently 3.03 euros per day). Baby seats are COMPULSORY for
babies
up to 3 years, and booster
seats are COMPULSORY for those aged up to 12
yrs or under 1.5m tall.
TAXI / MINIBUS TRANSFERS:
We
can also organise a taxi or minibus transfer to and from your accommodation. Prices
for a one way
transfer to the Vale do Lobo/Quinta do Lago area
from Faro airport are £38 for a taxi (accommodating 1 – 4
people), and £49 for a minibus accommodating 5 – 8 people.
You will be met in the arrival hall. Prices for transfers to Parque da
Floresta and Praia d ’el
